Monday started literally with a bang… and a kaa, and a tzuh and a chuh… when beat boxer extraordinaire Richard Lianhart came to Kensington Singers to teach us the art of vocal percussion. Check him out here in the T Mobile advert – he’s the handsome dude in the suit at 24secs. And Check out OUR bad selves out at our spring concert on March 26th at St Mary the Bolton’s with Kitch In Sync pop choir.
Big Little Singers Islington were sounding lovely Tuesday afternoon, and Tuesday night I launched the Selfridges Office Choir on Bond Street, London – the girls from Jimmy Choos made beautiful harmonies with the boys from Ted Baker.
This morning the Leicester Parkinson’s Sing choir, a project funded by the Leicester Freemasons, had its first rehearsal. The project runs for four weeks and sees four Parkinsons choirs form in Leicester, Oadby, Hinckley and Loughborough. They then come together for a joint concert at the Fraser Nobel Building, Leicester on Saturday March 10th.
Finally, this evening Fosse Singers welcomed the very noisy and very brilliant Uppingham Jazz and Soul Band to our weekly rehearsal in preparation for our joint concert this Satuday, February 25th at Uppingham Parish Church. The choir and band will be performing What the World Needs Now and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough and the concert raises funds for Gampola orphanage in Sri Lanka, caring for 70 children and babies and schooling 150. The money will help to buy food and essential items.
Tomorrow…. studio…! zzz
